{Wednesday, May 6, 8:32 p.m.}

.:: and it rained ::.

amber sky and golden waves
gentle yet untouched
brokenly mirror our blank faces

this is retarded
this day was not supposed to come
like the end of the world
eagerly anticipated until
it dawns
and time stomps relentlessly on

seashells crunch beneath my feet

6:40, 8:00, 9:15
tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow
oh good

can i sleep, can i just go to sleep
it can be work day for a week
it can be quiche for every meal
it can pour down rain
but i will be here
i will be home

it is so quiet
you’ve already gone, so many of you
yet i don’t cry
can’t cry
i’m in denial, ok?
i know it’s over
just shut the heck up

amber sky darkens to dusky periwinkle
golden waves ripple black
the day has dawned
the day is done

Father
give me rest

  1. Welcome home tired traveller. It’s been a long and beautiful journey. I’m so glad you had a chance to experience a whole new part of life and add new faces to your treasure trove of loved ones.
Then world behind and home ahead
We’ll wander back to home and bed
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

**doffs her cap and vanishes with a wink**
